Starz’s hit period drama became a success and gained tons of fans after its release in 2014. Outlander followed the adventures of a time-travelling nurse Claire Fraser (played by Caitríona Balfe). After the shocking finale fans are waiting to see the fate of Claire and her family, and in a surprising plot twist, Outlander bosses have also revealed a brand new cast member
In season five, fans finally got to see Claire’s daughter Brianna Fraiser (Sophie Skelton) wed her husband Roger Wakefield (Richard Rankin).
However, the bliss didn’t last long when they discovered Brianna’s rapist and notorious thief Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speleers) was still alive and causing trouble.
In episode 10, the rapist met his death at the hands of Brianna when she shot him in the head after he was sentenced to death by drowning.
Later Brianna and Roger decided that they wanted to time travel and go to the 20th century with their son Jemmy, however, this didn’t go to plan.
In a shocking turn of events, the family ended up where they started, the 1770’s.
This outcome happened because, as they used the special time travelling stones and thought of home, it transported them right back to their house on the ridge.
Elsewhere in the episode, Claire had been kidnapped by Lionel Brown (Ned Dennehy) and his men after he discovered that she had been using an alias to publish medical tips and he accused her of spreading lies.
Despite her attempts to escape she was beaten up by Lionel’s men and tied up.
Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when she was tied up to a tree and brutally raped by Lionel and several of his men.
Later her husband Jamie came to her rescue and waged war against Lionel, killing all of his men.
He left Lionel alive for questioning and even gave Claire an opportunity to kill her rapists but she decided instead to keep her oath of not taking a life.
With these shocking events, fans are eager to find out how Claire will cope with her traumatic experience and to find out if Brianna and her family will make it to the 20th century.
Luckily for fans, Maril Davis Outlander’s Executive Producer and Matthew B. Roberts the showrunner recently reflected on season five when they shared the news of a brand new cast member.
In the Youtube interview Maril said: “Also at the end of this episode what do we have, the cute little ball of fur, Adso.
“By far Adso I think is one of the more exciting new cast members we have this season in terms of cuteness, furriness and interaction with the crew.”
Adso the kitten was the latest addition to the cast and played by British shorthair Bear.
Outlander is the on-screen adaptation of the popular series of fantasy books written by Diana Gabaldon.
Much like most of the cast, Adso the kitten was also adapted from the novels.
With no official release date yet fans will have to wait to see the fate of Claire and Brianna, viewers will also get to witness Adso play its role as Bear.
