Phillip Schofield breaks down over Holly Willoughbys personal Christmas poem
Phillip Schofield has been left in tears after Holly Willoughby gave him a ‘thoughtful’ surprise present during a special episode set to air on This Morning.
The touching gift from his co-host occurred during the pre-recording of the Christmas episode of the ITV breakfast show, featuring the pair alongside Alsion Hammond and Gino D’Acampo, which will be shown on Saturday.
Holly teamed up with YouTube poet Probably Tom Foolery to write 59-year-old Phillip a special poem celebrating the last decade they have co-hosted the show together, reports Express.co.uk.
The heartfelt message concluded: "We’ve shared book birthdays and three times you’ve welcomed me here, you’ve been there for me through to this date.
"So as we wrap up this rhyme and we wish you a Christmas divine, we have one thing left to say that is true – you’ve been a mentor and friend and I hope that won’t end, and all I want for Christmas is that you keep being you!"
And the verse clearly has an effect on Phillip, who choked up as he said thanks for the gift via video-link.
He replied: "I really want to hug you right now and I know we can’t… but that’s very true."
"Thank you so much. What a lovely present.
"It’s beautiful and thank you Tom as well, thank you so much."
It comes after Phillip also recorded a poem with Tom to celebrate co-host and pal Holly’s 40th birthday earlier this year.
Back in February, he played her a video of a poem which called her the “most graceful drunk person that ever did live” and finished by saying: "She's our brightest and best and moves us all through our screens, she's the sister I never had.
"Happy birthday Holly."
Fans of the show can also look forward to the latest addition of Holly’s family making a special appearance on the show during one of her gifts from Phillip – a jumper to match her dog, Bailey.
