Pop Idol’s Jessica Garlick unrecognisable 21 years after first series of show and Eurovision bid | The Sun

POP Idol star Jessica Garlick is unrecognisable more than two decades after starring on the hit ITV show.

The songstress, now 42, made it into the final 10 contestants of Pop Idol back in 2001.

She was sadly eliminated in week two of the live shows with a rendition of Merry Christmas Everyone, by Shakin Stevens.

This came after belting out a rendition of Madonna hit, Papa Don't Preach, the week prior.

Just a year after her singing success Jessica, known for her poker-straight brunette locks, was selected to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tallinn.

Her track Come Back broke records as she finished joint third place, the highest polling since Imaani's Where Are You in 1998.

The result has not been bettered by a UK entry since.

After a brief singing break she re-ignited her music career in 2009 with a live gig and new single, Hard Not To Fall.

Yet after her second stint in the charts she went quiet, instead focusing on life with personal trainer husband Owen Satterley.

The pair dated since they were teenagers and married in Las Vegas in 2004.

Former rugby player Owen recently posted a picture tribute to mum of two Jessica and revealed her new look.

Jessica has kept her signature brunette locks in their sleek style, yet switched up to a darker colour.

The star opts for a natural face of make-up, with a splash of black mascara and eyeliner.

Her performing outfits have been switched for snug outerwear, including a blue puffer coat.

In his touching caption, Owen wrote: "Married for 18 years!

"And yes, I know I’m punching. happy #grateful"

The pair share daughter Olivia and son Noah.

Jessica previously told how the pop industry left her feeling "burned out" after living Stateside for a few years.

Speaking to Wales Online she said: “I decided to become the little wife.

“I’d had enough of going out every night, and I wasn’t spending any time with Owen.

"I came back briefly from LA and we decided to end it but we missed each other too much. We both kissed one other person at parties and it was gross.

“As soon as we got back together I realised I still fancied the pants off him.”

Speaking about re-locating to Herefordshire she added: "My in-laws are in Swansea and I’m closer to mum.
