Rylan Clark's estranged husband Dan Neal launching dating show after bitter marriage split
MOST of us handle a break-up by burying ourselves in a romcom and scoffing ice cream.
But Rylan Clark’s estranged husband Dan Neal has made a dating show.
The producer, who split with Rylan in June after five years of marriage, is behind a new programme called Dates With Mates.
And despite nursing a broken heart, Dan says he “can’t wait to play Cupid”.
It is made by BBC Studios for UKTV’s W channel and sees four single friends sit down for dinner, with a new male or female date served up for each of them with every course.
A source said: “Throwing yourself into work is always a good plan after a break-up. But quite why Dan’s chosen to do that with a dating show I have no idea.
“But it’s a fun concept. At the end of dinner, the dates return to ask out only one of the four.
“As you can imagine, this final scene always causes loads of drama.”

Dan appeared on the 14th series of Big Brother and met Rylan after he was evicted and interviewed by him on spin-off Big Mouth.
The ex-cop popped the question a year later during a trip to Paris and they married in 2015.
In the Sun on Sunday last week, This Morning presenter Rylan revealed their split led him to become “dangerously thin” and needing to take four months out of the spotlight.
But he is happy and healthy again after gaining weight and exercising.
While the theme of Dan’s show may seem odd, dating shows such as Channel 4’s First Dates are big business.
The source added: “There’ll always be room for one more because at the end of the day, it’s about the personalities of the cast. The twist at the end of Dates With Mates really helps draw them out.”
Launching the show, in what could be a cheeky dig at his ex, Dan said: “Dates may come and go, while friends are there for the long haul. But that doesn’t stop us looking for love again . . . and again.
“In this show, we date with our friends by our side and I can’t wait to help play Cupid.”
Sporty's curl power
MEL C lived up to her Sporty Spice moniker as she gave a glimpse of her workout regime.
The Spice Girls singer, who is a coach on The Voice Kids, mucked about with TikTok fitness star Denis Samsonov in a video.
Mel looked ripped in a barely there swimsuit – and in high heels – as she and Denis put each other through their paces.
She did bicep curls with weights while he performed backflips and carried the singer on his shoulders while squatting.
I’d better get to the gym.
Craig is a mover at last
IT’S a very happy new year for Craig Revel Horwood after he finally flogged his fab-u-lous mansion for £2.6million.
But the Strictly judge had to knock £550,000 off the asking price for the Hampshire house after putting it on the market nearly a year ago.
Having revamped the place with vintage chandeliers, mirrored floors in the kitchen and a “booze room” that includes a wall of wine fridges, he has still made a tidy profit since buying it for £1.8million in 2014.
Middlecot Manor was snapped up while Craig was on our screens during this year’s series, although it could not have come at a trickier time because he also caught Covid.
He wants to upsize and move north to be nearer the family of his fiancé Jonathan Myring.
SOAP stars Amy Walsh and Toby-Alexander Smith have welcomed their first child together.
The Emmerdale actress and EastEnders actor revealed in September they were expecting and have confirmed the tot’s arrival: “It’s been a busy week!
"Hope you all had a good one. Happy New Year from the three of us.”
Court's Friends hunch
IT’S hard to imagine anyone but Courteney Cox playing the role of Monica Geller in Friends.
And the actress is inclined to agree – because right after shooting the pilot episode in 1994 she went out to buy a Porsche.
Sex And The City’s Kristin Davis, who at the time practised yoga with Courtney, revealed: “One day Courteney was like, ‘Hey, guys. Do you want to come car shopping with me?’
“And we were like, ‘Wow, car shopping!’ And she said, ‘I did this pilot, I’m feeling really good about it. I think I’m going to buy a Porsche.’
“We were like, ‘Wow, is she for real?’ “It was Friends – and it did go very well.”
Which was probably tough for Kristin to hear at the time, as she also auditioned to play Monica.
But then, where would we be with her Charlotte York?
ONE of the hopefuls on ITV2 dating show The Cabins opens up about having a stutter in tonight’s first instalment of the new series.
Cory says: “I’ve developed a tiny stutter.

Kid faves back on Britbox
NOSTALGIA fans are about to be transported back in time thanks to BritBox.
It is screening a string of children’s shows which many older viewers won’t have watched for so long, they will have forgotten they ever existed.
From Thursday, much-loved Seventies animation Ivor The Engine will be featuring on the streaming service, as will episodes of Seventies and Eighties classic Rentaghost and Nineties science fiction favourite Whizziwig.
No doubt a bunch of Millennial snowflakes will find something wrong with them all and insist BritBox attaches a warning – or try to get them removed altogether.
Sneaky Pete is a blinder
PEAKY Blinders’ Tommy Shelby gears up for his final violent battle in an explosive trailer for the new series.
The leader of the Birmingham gang, played by Cillian Murphy, is in sombre mood as he prepares for a showdown with his enemy, fascist Oswald Mosley.
The notorious politician (Sam Claflin) is seen swigging booze behind a podium inside a hall adorned with Nazi flags.
Elsewhere, Tommy’s brother Arthur is slumped on a sofa with his name carved into his chest.
Jewish gang leader Alfie Solomons, played by Tom Hardy, also appears, while newcomer Stephen Graham is met by Tommy’s fist in another violent scene.
I can’t wait.
