Sally Nugent has exposed Dan Walker’s unique BBC Breakfast ritual ahead of his exit on BBC Breakfast next week.

During Wednesday’s (May 11) instalment of the beloved morning show, the 50-year-old broadcaster and her former Strictly co-host welcomed Boyzlife onto the red sofa.

As Irish hunks Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden joined the show to promote their new album, Old School, the brunette beauty couldn’t help but reveal her partner’s morning routine after six years on the programme.

During the interview with the boyband, the 50-year-old presenter confessed that the dad-of-three “loves a ballad” at 5am as he gets ready for their morning show.

Dan accidentally there his co-host under the bus as he told the dynamic duo: "I've got to say that one of the first things Sal said this morning was she does love a power ballad."

Shocked at his betrayal, she corrected his statement, saying: "Hang on you love a power ballad too!

"I'm going to share something [with you], very often in the morning Dan will play a power ballad at about five o'clock in the morning."

Slightly red-faced, the doting dad confessed: "I do love a power ballad in the morning."

Brian couldn't help but agree with the Breakfast star's morning routine, adding: "Yeah [you need] a fist pump first thing in the morning, get it going. There's plenty of fist pumpers on there."
