Has Maeve left Sex Education for good?
Sex Education fans have been desperate to know whether Maeve and Otis would ever get together officially.
Otis had expressed his feelings for Maeve in a voicemail, which was deleted by Isaac (George Robinson) out of spite.
Maeve thought Otis had been ignoring him, but the situation was cleared up when Isaac confessed everything.
This gave Maeve and Otis the opportunity to explore their feelings for each other, and they kissed on a school trip to France.
Maeve was left feeling confused after the kiss, but she soon realised it had been about Otis all along.
It seemed the pair had started to form an official relationship, but then Maeve received some news.
She had been accepted on a gifted and talented programme in the US and her best friend Amy (Aimée Lou Wood) convinced her to go.
Maeve visited Otis to say her goodbyes, but she promised him it was a “see you later” rather than a farewell.
However, this has not stopped fans from wondering whether her trip away will impact their relationship.
They will face the new challenge of making a long-distance relationship work.
At this stage, there is no knowing whether Maeve will feature in a potential season four.
There is a chance the story could follow her to America as she tries to achieve her dreams.
But will she realise Otis means more to her than school and decide to abandon the trip?
Maeve has always put herself first, so she could stick it out and stay despite missing Otis.
There is also the question of whether the pair will find love elsewhere during their time apart.
Otis had already explored a relationship with Ruby (Mimi Keene), so there is no reason why he could not look elsewhere again.
However, having finally got the girl of his dreams, he is unlikely to seek romance with anyone else.
Maeve, on the other hand, may still be feeling confused as to how their dynamic has changed.
She may find someone in the US who suits her personality better and decide to stay in America for good.
If the series is to continue for the foreseeable future, Maeve and Otis will have to face a number of obstacles.
If they were to settle down in the perfect relationship, it would indicate a satisfying end to the series.
Elsewhere in the season three finale, the students of Moordale were told some shocking news about their future.
As investors had withdrawn funding, the school was to close and the students were informed they would need to move elsewhere.
Fans will be wondering whether the school could be saved and who will be the one to do it.
Meanwhile, they will also be waiting to find out who the father of Jean Milburn’s (Gillian Anderson) baby is as she got the results of the paternity test and did not seem happy.
Sex Education season 3 is on Netflix now.
