Spoilers: Huge betrayal as Callum investigates Phil in EastEnders?

Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway (Tony Clay) is torn between love and duty once more in EastEnders, but will he betray beau Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) and thus secure evidence to put Phil (Steve McFadden) away?

Callum knew that being a police officer wouldn’t be an easy line of work, especially given that his boyfriend has a penchant for criminal activity.

However, in spite of the evident conflict of interest, he’s determined to make things work, but matters were complicated when Ben was arrested last week (September 17).

Upon discovering that Ben was Callum’s lover, DI Steve Thompson (Phillip Wright) issued Callum with an ultimatum — telling him he’ll turn a blind eye to the fact that he lied about recognising Ben on the CCTV if he can help him secure evidence to put Phil behind bars.

Callum wasn’t so sure, and in the latest episode (September 21), he ultimately decided against such a thing.

However, DI Thompson’s words left him concerned about what could lie ahead for Ben if he were to go to prison. Therefore, one can’t help but wonder if Callum will reconsider?

Next week, the copper searches through some paperwork of Phil’s, when Danny Hardcastle (Paul Usher) shows up.

Not pleased at the fact that he was stitched up for the warehouse job, the gangster points the finger at Callum.

However, Phil soon shows up, and Danny informs him that he caught Callum looking through his paper work, before calling him a grass.

Is it true?

Has Callum sided with Thompson in an effort to bring down Phil?
