Spoilers: Martin dies in robbery gone wrong as Vinny strikes back in EastEnders?

Martin Fowler (James Bye) was left in a very bad way in EastEnders as a terrified Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) retaliated after being cornered in the Minute Mart following an insurance job gone-wrong.

Upon the BBC One soap’s return to screens on Monday (September 7), it became apparent that Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) was having financial difficulties.

Yes, someone had stolen her identity, and had been making fraudulent purchases — and therefore he money was being drained.

Tuesday’s episode (September 8) saw Ruby being made quite the proposition, when Vinny — having learned of her financial difficulties — reminded her that the club is insured.

With the bank refusing to believe that it wasn’t Ruby making these purchases, her cash flow problems went from bad to worse in tonight’s episode (September 10) and thus she told Vinny she was on board with the insurance job.

The young lad prepared to do as she asked, and therefore — after she left the club — he entered and stole the money from the safe.

However, Martin saw the hooded figure heading off with a bag full of what he presumed to be cash, and having put two and two together, he gave chase.

Vinny entered the minute Mart via the backdoor and Martin followed suit, but failed to locate the young man once inside.

However, Vinny appeared behind him with a fire extinguisher, and hit him over the back of the head.

Following the collision, Martin fell to the floor and became unconscious — leaving Vinny fearing the worst.

Is Martin dead?
