Strictly ‘stars hit by sickness bug sparking fears for Saturday’s live show’
Strictly Come Dancing's live show on Saturday is under threat by a sickness bug that is wiping out the judges and celebrity contestants.
There is panic backstage that the bug might actually get the better of the celebrities as they try to recover but show bosses have vowed "the show must go on."
It has been reported that "several" contestants have been battling against the bug and last week, head judge was pictured on a vitamin drip, in a bid to banish the illness.
The Daily Star has said that show producers are trying to stop it spreading and have "got loads of medicine in" in the hope they can force the illness out of this year's crop of celebs.
A show insider told the newspaper: "Everyone is working hard and obviously they get up close and personal with each other as they dance.
"When someone gets sick it quickly spreads through the cast."
They added: "Lots of people have been under the weather but the show must go on."
A couple weeks ago, children's TV star Karim Zeroual was forced to miss most of his rehearsals due to "feeling run down."
The bug also robbed him the opportunity to appear on Strictly spin-off show, It Takes Two.
This week, it is former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldsley that is feeling worse for wear.
She is among the many that are fearing they could be next to catch it.
Speaking to the Star, Catherine revealed: "I’m not feeling great today. I’m very tired.
"The lurgy has been doing the rounds at Strictly for weeks. It’s been trying to get me but it won’t win!"
