The Chase's Bradley Walsh slammed by fans for VERY controversial advice to young contestant
THE Chase's Bradley Walsh has been slammed by fans for his VERY controversial advice to young contestant.
On Monday's edition of the ITV quiz show, Bradley, 61, was joined by medical student Charlie.
Charlie didn't have the best Cash Builder round, and took £3,000 to the table, where he was met by Chaser, Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan.
She offered him a low offer of £300, and a high offer of £26,000 and Bradley encouraged him to ask the rest of his team for their advice.
Tracy said: "Well you did quite well in the cash-builder there. Like you said a few of them were a bit before you were born. I think just stick with the three."
Fellow player Steph said: "Stick with what you’ve earned. If you’re feeling a bit unsure go for the £300 and make sure you get back to us."
Tony urged Charlie to stick with £3,000, saying: "I can’t remember anything after [the year] 2000 so we definitely need the youth. Three is a good foundation to build on."
Charlie decided to follow his advice, but Bradley then issued a word of caution before locking it in.
He said: "Okay. Bearing in mind how tricky the chase-builder questions were, you’ve only got to get two questions that are out of your age range and you’re in trouble.
“£300 is a plus, so think about it."
The Chase viewers were not impressed by Bradley's advice, with one writing on Twitter: "Stop pushing him to take the £300 #TheChase."
Another added: "Bradley, put a cork firmly in it and keep it there where the lower offers are concerned. #thechase."
A third agreed, writing: "Bradley Walsh, were you just trying to convince Charlie to go low?! #TheChase."
Charlie stuck to his guns and said: "It’s going to have to be £3,000 I think Brad. I’m going to brave it."
However, he should have taken Bradley's advice and gained the extra step closer to home as Jenny ended up catching him and sending him off empty handed.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
