The final season of The Walking Dead is gaining steam as Alexandria prepares for another war, this time against the shadowy group of assassins known as the Reapers. After Maggie (played by Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) narrowly escaped them this week, Daryl (Norman Reedus) will get up close and personal with one of them when the next episode arrives on AMC and Disney+.
Daryl Dixon will reunite with an old friend in next week’s episode of The Walking Dead, ‘Rendition’.
In the fourth episode of the final season, Daryl and Dog will be captured by the Reapers and taken to their base in the Meridian.
The logline for the next instalment, which is already available to viewers with an AMC+ subscription, confirms Daryl will ‘reconnect with someone’.
Those who don’t have access to the episode are convinced that someone will be Leah (Lynn Collins).
A lone survivor who lived in an isolated cabin, Leah formed a strong yet temporary bond with Daryl when he stumbled across her home in the woods near the end of season ten.
It now appears the Reapers have claimed Leah as one of their own thanks to some clues in the latest promo.
The new trailer features a revealing shot which was already included in the marketing for the current season.
Daryl appears to be getting a stare-down from a single Reaper, before the trailer cuts to their ensuing fight scene.
However, the fact the Reaper is standing with Daryl’s dog, simply named Dog, by their side seems to suggest they’ve met before.
Although Dog has been Daryl’s companion since the 10th season, Leah’s last appearance in ‘Find Me’ revealed he used to belong to her when he was a puppy.
Some years later, Daryl and Dog have become loyal friends and Leah’s fate has remained unknown.
Now Leah has finally returned, but unfortunately it appears she’s still holding a grudge after they were separated by a row a few years ago.

Several clues sprinkled throughout her last appearance also seem to confirm Leah may have already been part of the Reapers before meeting up with Daryl.
During their time together in her cabin, she makes several references to a found family which are heavily implied to be the Reapers.
She also shows Daryl a skull-shaped tattoo which bears a strong resemblance to the masks worn by the sinister group.
Showrunner Angela Kang also drew a connection between Leah and the Reapers at this year’s TWD panel at the San Diego Comic Con.
“These are the pinnacle of human killers. It’s just a very formidable type of enemy to go up against,” she teased.
“They don’t rely on numbers and volume of people to fight against in order to kind of survive, so they’re a tight-knit group.”
If Daryl and Leah eventually reconcile, she could become a valuable ally as Alexandria prepares for the fight against their deadliest threat yet.
The Walking Dead season 11 continues Sundays on AMC and the following Monday on Star via Disney+.
