Tragedy strikes for the Nightingales in Hollyoaks as huge death rocks the family

The Nightingale family are set to be rocked by a devastating tragedy in Hollyoaks next week, following the horrific explosion.

Marnie’s (Lysette Antony) beloved patisserie is engulfed in flames in dramatic scenes on Tuesday (January 11), leaving numerous lives on the line in the process.

The businesswoman recruits Romeo (Owen Warner) and Juliet (Niamh Blackshaw) to assist her with the Dee Vallery hospital fundraiser, which she is hosting at the Salon.

Juliet, however, has other things on her mind, and she even enlists James (Gregory Finnegan) to help her in her plan to woo Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell).

Peri, meanwhile, realises what she truly wants while in a life-threatening situation, but is she too late to make her dreams a reality?

It’s certainly a possibility, as the explosion endangers many lives, including Juliet’s, in scenes which were teased in the Channel 4 soap’s recent New Year trailer.

Marnie is also in danger, as she’s trapped beneath the rubble, where she bonds with Jack Osborne (Jimmy McKenna).

However, she is seemingly okay in scenes which follow, as spoilers have confirmed that she is distraught in the aftermath of the event. Juliet, meanwhile, is rushed to hospital for emergency surgery!

Marnie lashes out at James, and later has some kind words for Donna-Marie Quinn (Lucy-Jo Hudson), before tragedy strikes for the Nightingale clan.

The question is: just what transpires? Will a member of the family die? If so, who?

One to watch: Thursday January 14 at 7pm on E4.
