Susanna Reid stepped in on Tuesday\u2019s Good Morning Britain to force her co-host to apologise after an explicit remark.<\/p>\n
Ed Balls, 56, had only been repeating a comment he had heard \u2013 but Susanna wasn\u2019t having any of it.<\/p>\n
The pair were discussing Education Secretary Gillian Keegan making headlines after she was caught on camera saying others \u2018sat on their a***\u2019 over the concrete crisis hitting schools across the nation.<\/p>\n
The MP had just finished filming an\u00a0ITV News\u00a0interview when she voiced her frustrations, while still on camera.<\/p>\n
Heard on the microphone she was still wearing, Ms Keegan\u00a0asked those in the room: \u2018Does anyone ever say, \u201cYou know what, you\u2019ve done a f****** good job,\u201d because everyone else has sat on their a*** and done nothing?<\/p>\n
\u2018No signs of that, no?\u2019<\/p>\n
In a follow-up interview Ms Keegan\u00a0apologised for her \u2018choice language\u2019 and said it was an \u2018off-the-cuff remark\u2019.<\/p>\n

Talking about the incident on Good Morning Britain, Ed began: \u2018Who was she annoyed at? Who was she saying was sitting on their a***?\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018You can\u2019t say that word!\u2019 Susanna quickly interrupted.<\/p>\n
\u2018We just had it on the television,\u2019 he tried to defend.<\/p>\n
Susanna went on: \u2018I know, even though the education secretary said it, you might have noticed I then apologised for it.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018I would like to apologise for the fact that I said what the education secretary said, who is in charge of all the schools in our country and the wellbeing of all young people under the age of 18,\u2019 Ed then said.<\/p>\n

\u2018I used the same language as her which I thought was acceptable and it\u2019s not.<\/p>\n
\u2018And I would like to apologise.\u2019<\/p>\n
Becoming quite flustered, Ed then added: \u2018You just played it on the programme, I thought it was okay!\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018I am so sorry!\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018We are mired in apologies this morning,\u2019 Susanna joked.<\/p>\n
Later in the episode, Ed quipped: \u2018Never use that language on national television\u2026 I\u2019m told!\u2019<\/p>\n
