Fans of Channel 4's Celebs Go Dating were left in hysterics after an unfortunate mis-pronunciation from Vanessa Feltz's date led to the This Morning star leaving abruptly.

Vanessa and former Love Island star Chloe Burrows, 27, went on a double date on Wednesday night's episode of the show, 6 September.

Chloe kicked off proceedings by asking everyone what their favourite sex position was, with Vanessa immediately saying hers is 'reverse cowgirl'.

She then went on to ask the men if they had "ever been pegged".

Pegging is a lewd sexual act.

Chloe's date replied: "No I have not," as he said that he is not open to it.

She then asked Vanessa's date if he had, to which he nonchalantly replied: "Yes."

An open-mouthed Chloe asked: "You've been f*****g pegged?" as he replied: "A couple of times, yes."

Unimpressed, Vanessa said: "Oh my god. I need to leave, I don't like it.

"Not happy at all. I'm going to go home right now."

She then stormed out of the date early, leaving a very awkward table in her wake.

Chloe then asked Vanessa's date again if he meant 'pegged', leaving him to tell her he meant he'd been 'begged' for sex 'loads of times'.

The reality star couldn't contain her laughter before she too left the date.

Viewers of the show found the unfortunate mishap hilarious as they took to Twitter to comment.

One wrote: "Funniest season of #CelebsGoDating yet. Cracking up. #pegged," whilst a second said: "Begged not pegged loool wat a disaster ,that double date was a shambles #celebsgodating

Someone else said: "In tears at the fact Vanessa's date thought Chloe said begged, and not pegged #celebsgodating," was a fourth said: "Chloe is jokes … that pegging situ was hilarious#Celebsgodating."

A couple of people criticised Vanessa for leaving the date early – which is not the first time that she's done it during the series.

During the show on 23 August, the TV star – who announced her split from her fiancé Ben Ofoedu in February – went on a dinner date with a fishmonger named Richard.

Vanessa seemed distinctly unimpressed with her date from the off, as he asked her what she does for a living – and when told about her radio show and career history, he asked her: "Oh, so you're a proper journalist then?"

The pair ordered their food – halibut and triple cooked chips – but it seemed that Vanessa had already checked out, as she sat on her phone and all but ignored Richard's attempts at conversation.

Suddenly, with their full plates in front of them, Vanessa said to Richard: "Anyway, I'm very grateful to you for coming all the way down. It was really nice of you."

As Richard said: "No problem," Vanessa replied: "Thank you so much and have a safe journey home. Very best wishes," as she shook his hand.

She then slung her bag over her shoulder and unceremoniously left the restaurant, leaving a very bemused Richard sat on his own with the table of food.

He then looked around and asked: "Can I finish eating?"
