It was time for blame and recriminations on Tuesday (September 19)\u2019s Emmerdale, after Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) almost died after eating something with nuts in.<\/p>\n
Jacob has a lifelong and serious nut allergy, but at a tasting event at the Hide he ate a slider after checking with Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) that it was nut free. She confirmed it was \u2013 but soon Jacob was gasping for air and collapsing as he suffered an anaphylactic reaction.<\/p>\n
Too late, Victoria realised that in her haste to whip up another batch of snacks when Gabby (Rosie Bentham) brought extra people to the event she\u2019d used nut oil. And even though Victoria\u2019s quick actions when Jacob fell ill may have helped to save his life, Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) knew who she was blaming.<\/p>\n

As Leyla and David kept watch over Jacob overnight, Leyla was raging about Victoria\u2019s actions, determined to make her pay. David, who has recently realised he\u2019s still in love with Victoria, attempted to defend her.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that last time Jacob was in a hospital bed it was because of Leyla. When Jacob tried to sort out his mum\u2019s drug addiction by confronting her dealer, he ended up being stabbed for his efforts.<\/p>\n
Back at the Hide, a traumatised Victoria found some support from Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana), but then Gabby came in angry that the people she was hoping might buy the establishment had pulled out because of all the drama the day before.<\/p>\n
They were joined by Leyla, threatening to call in environmental health and generally making a massive scene by telling customers to flee for their lives while they still could.<\/p>\n

\u2018By the time I\u2019ve finished with you you\u2019re not going to be able to give this place away,\u2019 she warned Gabby, who decided that someone had to take the fall for the whole incident and it wasn\u2019t going to be her. She fired Victoria.<\/p>\n
A distraught Victoria felt slightly better later when David stopped by as she had a little cry with Wendy (Susan Cookson) and told her that Jacob was doing well and would be fine. She decided to go and visit him in hospital herself.<\/p>\n
As she sat by his bed, telling him how sorry she was about the incident, Jacob took her hand. He said he would sort things out with Leyla.<\/p>\n
Then they had one of those Moments where the camera closes in tightly on their faces. The sort of moment that often leads to a kiss.<\/p>\n

While Jacob looked like he wouldn\u2019t mind if that happened, Victoria was more awkward. She had been practically his step-mother for quite a while, after all. This was quite the turn of events.<\/p>\n
She took her hand away from his and stepped away from the bed, telling him that he\u2019d \u2018had a scare and it\u2019s normal that things are a bit heightened.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018Is that what it is?\u2019 he replied.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s what we\u2019re wondering. Is that all it is? Or could this be the twist that leads to David\u2019s heart being broken as his son and the woman he still loves start a relationship? We know that Matthew Wolfenden will be exiting soon \u2013 will this be the cause of him leaving the village?<\/p>\n
