Coronation Street fans have been concerned for Ed Bailey in recent scenes.

He previously battled gambling addiction and viewers of the ITV soap have witnessed him come into some serious money following a business deal with his brother Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan).

However, Ed managed to turn down the opportunity to put on a bet in recent scenes and later explained to his colleague about his previous demons

Since joining Corrie four years ago, actor Trevor Michael Georges has become a huge part of Weatherfield life and Daily Star has taken a look inside the actor's life away from the cobbles.

Although Trevor is fondly known by fans as Weatherfield resident Ed, the actor has had roles in a number of rival soaps before his Corrie stint.

He played Sergeant Cooper in BBC hospital drama Casualty in 2003, before playing a dad in EastEnders one year later in 2004.

Trevor also appeared as Paul Kelly in Doctors in 2006, as well as Gareth Gannon in Holby City in 2019.

That's not all, as the actor also rose to fame in TV series such as The Ink Thief, opposite Crystal Maze legend Richard O' Brien in 1994, before landing huge roles in series including Whitechapel, People Just Do Nothing and Doctor Who – where he was the vicar at the ill-fated marriage of Catherine Tate's character Donna Noble.

He also most recently appeared as Dayo Baako in Noughts And Crosses, as well as landing his now famous Coronation Street role in 2019.

In 2020, Trevor's cobbles character Ed was the victim of racism, after he was targeted with vile comments by Don.

Trevor has since spoken openly about the importance of tackling issues such as racism in storylines, as well as his own real life experiences of racism growing up.

Speaking to the Metro, he said: "The subject matter won’t go away if we ignore it and many don’t have anywhere to go to find a platform for reflection. It’s also good for Coronation Street to stay grafted to the real world to maintain its own relevance."

Reflecting on experiences in his own life, he added: "A few weeks ago I went into my children’s school to discuss issues one of my children was having regarding racist remarks made by one of their peers – more than 40 years after I suffered the same at school."

He continued: "You can seldom fix anything over night but you can keep trying to heal a recurring sickness and I think that’s the process we’re part of."

Although Trevor tends to keep his personal life private, it is know that the actor is married and has children.

He occasionally posts sweet snaps with his family on Instagram, including gorgeous photographs of him and his family enjoying nights out at restaurants.

One gorgeous snap shows the family on holiday where he, his wife and daughter are smiling for the camera.

He captioned the post: "Chilling with the clan in Frinton."

Trevor was a hero in 2021, after he stepped in to help a man who had become dragged underneath a tram in Manchester.

The actor was shopping when he spotted the man being dragged under the tram, and after helping him, stayed with until an ambulance arrived, saying on Twitter: "Went shopping in Manchester only to see a homeless guy dragged under a tram.

"Gave him a fag and stayed with him till the ambulance came. Stay safe people please!"

He continued to update his followers on the man's recovery, tweeting later: "He’s in the ambulance (with a packet of fags from me).

"Stay safe. I hope your day gets better."

He added: "Shout out to the tram driver too. Wasn’t his fault but the poor guy was really shaken."

Ed's fellow Corrie stars also sent their well-wishes for the man, with Toyah Battersby actress Georgia Taylor commenting: "Oh god love that’s awful! Hope he’s going to be ok.

"Glad you were there to help. Traumatic for you to see that too xxx"
