Katherine Ryan has \u2018nothing\u2019 to say about the allegations made against Russell Brand.<\/p>\n
The 40-year-old comedian\u2019s\u00a0previous comments believed to be about <\/strong>the actor\u00a0came to light amid\u00a0his sexual assault allegations<\/strong>, and she has spoken about the importance of \u2018consent\u2019 amid public calls for her to address the claims.<\/p>\n \u2018If you came here for anything else, I should put you out of your misery now and let you know that I have nothing else to say about anything,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n However, Ryan \u2013 who did not directly mention Brand or the allegations against him before moving on \u2013 did argue that her consent appears to be \u2018totally unimportant\u2019 when it comes to her decision not to comment further.<\/p>\n She continued: \u2018Apart from, I guess, passing observation, when a woman says \u201cNo I don\u2019t want to engage in that conversation and I have no comment on that story, no I won\u2019t be confirming or denying or participating about anything in the news right now\u201d, her consent is not valid.<\/p>\n \u2018Why is my consent totally unimportant when we are speaking a lot in the press right now speaking about the importance of consent? <\/p>\n \u2018No is a full sentence, ladies, gentlemen \u2013 no!\u2019<\/p>\n After rape and abuse allegations aimed at 48-year-old Brand were made public last week, former comments made by Ryan started to circulate online as she is said to have\u00a0outed allegations against Brand<\/strong>\u00a0while working together on Comedy Central\u2019s Roast Battle in 2018.<\/p>\n During the show, the panel aimed jabs at each other with the Canadian star apparently leaving the St Trinians\u2019 actor \u2018furious\u2019 with her unaired dig, reportedly saying: \u2018I will remind you of that if any victims come out.\u2019<\/p>\n And in a previous interview with Louis Theroux, Ryan discussed an unnamed \u2018predator\u2019 known by comedians to be working in the industry.<\/p>\n While she said she had called them as much to their face, she admitted her discussion with the documentarian was a \u2018litigious minefield\u2019 and \u2018not really my story to tell\u2019.<\/p>\n \u2018No one has perpetrated any sexual assault against me,\u2019 she told Theroux. \u2018I, in front of loads of people, in the format of the show said to this person\u2019s face that they are a predator.\u2019<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/metro-parent\/img\/fallback.png\")
