After cutting the ribbon on its Milan flagship store four years ago, Uniqlo is preparing to open its second Italian outpost in the nation’s capital of Rome.<\/p>\n
The store, which is slated to open in the spring, will be situated inside the historical Galleria Alberto Sordi on Via del Corso. Measuring 14,000 square feet, the massive, three-story building will house the Japanese fashion label’s expansive range of menswear, womenswear and childrenswear.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is an honor for us to open in the capital of Italy, a city with such a strong cultural heritage, and increase our presence in the Italian market with a store in the Galleria Alberto Sordi, an important retail location that first opened 100 years ago,\u201d said Mark Barnatovic, Uniqlo Italy’s chief operating officer.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe look forward to offering our Uniqlo LifeWear, apparel that is created from our Japanese values of quality, simplicity and longevity and helps improve people\u2019s daily lives, to Uniqlo fans and customers in Italy as well as visitors from abroad,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n
The Rome store will mark the latest addition to Uniqlo’s ever-expanding European retail presence, which presently counts 70 stores in 10 countries. Notably, the company operates 26 outposts in France, 17 stores in the U.K., 10 shops in Germany and a number of other locations in countries including Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Denmark and Poland, among others.<\/p>\n
