Strictly Come Dancing star Bobby Brazier has admitted that as a child, he was 'desperate for fame.'

It comes as the son of Jeff Brazier, 44, and the late reality TV star Jade Goody also revealed to OK! that he believes his mum would be 'happy' he is taking part in the dance competition.

Bobby, 20, who is currently partnered with Dianne Buswell on the show, spoke to Grazia about how fame was always something he wanted from a young age.

"I think that as a kid, that's all I wanted," he said. "I was desperate for that when I was younger. I made myself ready. I spent so much time making myself ready because I started to believe that could happen and I could have that.

"Because I wanted it so much. When I was 14, 15, even when I was 12, I remember having thoughts like that, desires like that. I spent a lot of my childhood years just wishing for attention."

Last month, Bobby, who lost his mum in 2009 when he was just five, opened up to OK! about what he thinks his late mum would say about his career so far.

He told us: "'She'd be happy that I'm doing something that makes me happy. Like all my friends and all of my family, and everyone that loves me is.

"They're happy for me because they know how much I'm going to enjoy myself and how happy I am to just be here."

Bobby also spoke to Grazia about getting his big acting break after being cast as Freddie Slater in EastEnders last year.

He told the publication how he relates to the character, describing 'cheeky' Freddie as an 'exaggerated version of himself.'

The star also spoke about the incredible moment he moved his dad, Jeff, to tears after scooping up this year's National Television Award for Rising Star, as voted by the public.

Calling it an 'unbelievable experience,' he confirmed he had watched his dad's reaction back and found it, 'just so sweet.'

It comes as Bobby was tipped to head to Hollywood after becoming an early favourite to win Strictly.

Experts predict Bobby could be set for a huge payday and a career in America due to his growing popularity. Rochelle White, a brand and culture expert, spoke to The Daily Star about what is next in store for the young star.

The expert said: "The doors are open for Bobby post-show, with a background in modelling and acting. I feel that similar opportunities will be waiting.

"He could become the face of brands, ad campaigns, and more. I feel he has good people around him, and they will help support his career and the choices he makes.

"Because of his age, I feel that America could be on the cards also. With his modelling background, he could be chosen to walk New York Fashion Week, and who knows what that could lead to across the pond.

"I feel he likes his time and experience on EastEnders, but I don't feel that is the end game for him, and he has bigger things he would like to work on achieving."
