\u201cWe\u2019re at Blackpool, it\u2019s got murder, it\u2019s got lies, it\u2019s got that backstabbing feeling that we get in every industry but in mine particularly.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wanted to really place it more true to life even though it\u2019s fiction and I have to be creative.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the interview, the 63-year-old confessed readers will have to guess if Shirley witnessed aspects of the book, took part in scenarios or if it\u2019s completely made up.<\/p>\n

You look at the world, whether you\u2019re watching Strictly or watching my world of ballroom dancing and it\u2019s my full-time job.<\/p>\n \u201cI just wanted to put together stories of things that I have been part of or witnessed in the industry, it\u2019s not all baubles, bangles and beads.\u201d<\/p>\n Giving more information about the novel, Shirley told Holly and Josie her character in the book is called Lily and she embarks on an affair with Javier<\/p>\n She teased: \u201cThose scenes are very steamy and very hot! Even my mother when I passed her bedroom said,\u2019 Oh you can\u2019t say that! Oh good lord Shirley, get a grip!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n However, the dancer admits she had to change the ending as her mother didn\u2019t think she\u2019d got it quite right.<\/p>\n As the novel is a murder mystery, the dancer revealed nobody who has read it so far has been able to solve who the murderer is.<\/p>\n
