The pop group S Club\u00a0have cancelled their Liverpool concert just hours before they were due to take to the stage at the M&S Bank Arena.<\/p>\n
Taking to social media, the band shared an emotional statement and said that they were “devastated” by the decision.\u00a0<\/p>\n
They said: “S Clubbers, We’re beyond devastated to announce that tonight’s show has had to be postponed by the venue, due to them having an unforeseen technical issue impacting their power supply and therefore your safety.<\/p>\n
“We can’t begin to express how sorry we are. Especially as we know most of you have travelled great distances to join us tonight.<\/p>\n
“But your safety is our priority always. We’re rescheduling tonight’s performance in Liverpool to Monday, October 30, and all tickets remain valid. If you cannot make the new date, refunds are available from your original point of purchase.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Brad, Jo, Jon, Rachel and Tina x.”<\/p>\n Meanwhile, a statement from M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool read: “Due to an unforeseen technical issue which is beyond our control and is impacting the power supply, we have sadly been forced to take the decision – with the event promoter – to postpone tonight\u2019s performance by S Club.<\/p>\n “We understand that S Club fans and the band will be very disappointed but as the safety and comfort of our visitors is our utmost priority, the show cannot proceed as planned.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The pop band are currently embarking on their UK and Ireland Tour, having already performed in Manchester the previous evening.\u00a0<\/p>\n Liverpool is the second leg of their tour and they are due to continue their live concerts in Sheffield tomorrow.\u00a0<\/p>\n S Club, originally named S Club 7, were formed in 1998 and rose to fame with\u00a0four UK number-one singles.\u00a0<\/p>\n Earlier this year, the band announced that they would be reunited for a tour to mark their 25th anniversary.\u00a0<\/p>\n However, a few months later former bandmate Paul Cattermole died of natural causes at the age of 46.\u00a0<\/p>\n The band later announced that they would change their name to S Club and that member Hannah Spearritt will not be involved in the upcoming tour.\u00a0<\/p>\n We use your sign-up to provide content in ways you’ve consented to and to improve our understanding of you.
