Massive Attack guitarist\u00a0Angelo Bruschini has died following a battle with lung cancer, the band confirmed on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Massive Attack penned on X: ‘RIP Angelo. A singularly brilliant & eccentric talent. Impossible to quantify your contribution to the Massive Attack canon.<\/p>\n
‘How lucky we were to share such a life together.’<\/p>\n
Bristol-born Angelo Bruschini joined the group in the 1990s.<\/p>\n
In a social media post in July, Bruschini wrote that he had been suffering from lung cancer and that several specialists had wished him ‘good luck’.<\/p>\n

He wrote: ‘Twice now I have been told ‘”Good luck'” by specialists at the hospital over lung cancer, I think I’m f***ed!’<\/p>\n
“Had a great life, seen the world many many times, met lots of wonderful people, but the door is closing, think I will write a book.”<\/p>\n
Angelo joined Massive Attack in the 90s, playing with them in the studio and at live shows.<\/p>\n
Angelo produced Strangelove’s eponymous album in 1997. He also played for a number of other bands, including The Numbers and Rimshots and The Blue Aeroplanes.<\/p>\n
The latter band wrote: ‘We are devastated to announce the passing of our brother Angelo Bruschini.<\/p>\n
Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. Rest In Peace Ange x.’<\/p>\n
