Timex has revealed a painterly collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, turning some of the New York institution’s most-revered artworks into wearable, expressive timepieces.

Inside the collection, Timex’s Modern Easy Reader, which boasts a clear and legible dial with straightforward functionality, comes in two artistic finishes. The first iteration dons Gustav Klimt’s 1912-13 portrait of Mäda Primavesi on the dial, and the painting continues down the watch’s leather strap, separated by a sophisticated, silver-toned case. The second watch sees Vincent Van Gogh’s famous self-portrait take over in a similar manner.

Down the line, Timex’s T80 timepiece, which operates digitally, hosts Utagawa Hiroshige’s Maples at Mama woodblock print from around 1857. The design surrounds the watch’s screen and commands its resin strap. Rounding out the collection, a second T80 watch is decorated with Katsushika Hokusai‘s Under the Wave off Kanagawa woodblock print, which was crafted around 1830-32. The famous wave illustration, which is also known as The Great Wave, belongs to Hokusai’s signature Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji series.

The Timex x The Met collection is now available to shop on Timex’s webstore. Prices range from £100 GBP to £110 GBP. Take a closer look at the collaboration in the gallery above.
