I had no idea I could get it<\/h3>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Asda\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a32.45 for 12, 222g\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>\u00a31.10 per 100g<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"article__media\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/775577-sun-consumer-journalist-rosie-857903580.jpg\"><span>7<\/span><figcaption class=\"article__media-caption\"><span>Value and taste were middling at Asda<\/span><span>Credit: Chris Eades<\/span><\/figcaption><p>These from Asda didn\u2019t brown well when cooking, so didn\u2019t look as appealing as the other\u00a0pigs\u00a0in\u00a0blankets\u00a0we tried. <\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, they weren\u2019t that tasty either.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Although they seemed more meaty than the Tesco version, they tasted mainly of cheap sausage without much smoky bacon flavour coming through. <\/p>\n<p>These were middle-of-the-range price wise, at 20p per\u00a0pig\u00a0in\u00a0blanket.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Taste: 6\/10<\/li>\n<li>Value: 7\/10<\/li>\n<li>Total: 13\/20<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Morrisons<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li> \u00a32.50 for 12, 210g<\/li>\n<li>\u00a31.19 per 100g<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/groceries-morrisons-com-products-morrisons-859764777.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>There was lots of bacon on these Morrisons\u00a0pigs\u00a0in\u00a0blankets, which crisped up nicely in the oven. <\/p>\n<p>Costing 21p per\u00a0pig\u00a0in\u00a0blanket, they didn\u2019t have a strong sausage and it felt like there was a lot of salt from the bacon &#8211; but they had a decent texture. \u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Taste: 6\/10<\/li>\n<li>Value: 6\/10<\/li>\n<li>Total: 12\/20<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Sainsbury\u2019s<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a33.25 for 12, 260g<\/li>\n<li>\u00a31.25 per 100g<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/775577-sun-consumer-journalist-rosie-857903630.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Sainsbury&#x27;s were the most expensive\u00a0pigs\u00a0in\u00a0blankets\u00a0we tried, working out at 27p per\u00a0pig\u00a0\u2013 but they were also one of the nicest. <\/p>\n<p>The meat was a little too squishy in texture but they had a great herby, sausage taste.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Taste: 8\/10<\/li>\n<li>Value: 5\/10<\/li>\n<li>Total: 13\/20<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Aldi<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a31.99 for 12, 222g (in stores from November 24)<\/li>\n<li>90p per 100g<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/775577-sun-consumer-journalist-rosie-857903777.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Aldi\u2019s\u00a0pigs\u00a0in\u00a0blankets\u00a0were joint cheapest, at just 17p per\u00a0pig. <\/p>\n<p>But frustratingly, they browned so quickly they almost burnt in the cooking time and then stuck hard to the pan.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>They also let us down on taste.
