Comedian Hans Kim has sparked outrage on social media after sharing a video of his stand-up routine, in which he referenced the death of Friends actor Matthew Perry.

In the video posted by Hans to his TikTok account, he shared the cruel vibe, as he said: "Sad to hear that the great Matthew Perry died alone in a hot tub.

"You know, for a guy on a show called Friends he could have used a couple."

The video sparked a number of critical comments, with one TikTok user writing: "Clearly you have no good material left. If you had any at all. This isn't comedy. It's in very poor taste."

"Besides being totally uncalled for this just isn't even funny" added another, while a third simply penned: "Too soon."

Responding to the criticism of his video, Hans shared a screenshot of an article reporting on it, which he captioned: "MOMMA WE MADE IT!

"To all the people I offended I sincerely apologize. I hope you grow thicker skin and not just because your dead corpse is left bloating in a hot tub for two hours."

Matthew was found unresponsive in his hot tub by his assistant on 28 October, who immediately tried to get his head above water before calling for help.

Sadly, despite the best efforts of first responders, Matthew was later pronounced dead at the scene. He was aged just 54 at the time of his passing.

He was laid to rest on Friday 3 November at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles, a well-known resting place for celebrities like Paul Walker and Carrie Fisher. His former Friends co-stars were among those who attended his funeral.

Matthew's Friends co-stars, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow later paid tribute to the actor ahead of his funeral.

In a statement to People Magazine, they said: "We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family."

"There is so much to say, but right now we're going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss."

They added: "In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty's family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world."

And in the days following Matthew's funeral, each of the Friends main cast shared their own tributes on their social media pages.
