Jason Issacs looks every inch the matinee idol playing screen icon Cary Grant in the new four-part ITVX mini-series about the Bristol-born actor\u2019s life called Archie.<\/p>\n

The biopic tells the story of Grant\u2019s life from his childhood through to his final years, predominantly focusing on his relationship with actress Dyan Cannon in the 60s.<\/p>\n

From the salt and pepper hair Grant sported throughout the decades to the tailored suits to the dimple on his chin – it is safe to say the attention to detail is painstaking.<\/p>\n

However, the Harry Potter star admitted that there was one aspect of Grant\u2019s character that he struggled with \u2013 his accent. Fortunately, he found a long-lost interview with the deeply private star that put him on the right track.<\/p>\n

He made the revelations speaking to Express.co.uk and other media at a special screening of the first two episodes in the Soho Hotel in London.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cSo the accent that he has, I was desperate to find something and there was nothing, nothing at all,\u201d Jason explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd it was only the films [for reference] and that’s not what he spoke like and having broken it down with a dialect coach his accent changed a lot in lots of the films.<\/p>\n

\u201cJennifer [Grant, Cary\u2019s daughter] told he was much more English off camera and correct pronunciation and all that,\u201d Jason intimated.<\/p>\n

\u201cUltimately\u2026I was trying to find out [his accent off screen]. I couldn’t find anything anywhere, partly because he didn’t want to be [interviewed].\u201d<\/p>\n

Jason\u2019s eureka moment came when he discovered that the legendary star had done a rare interview with some college students when he was in his 80s.<\/p>\n
