<\/p>\nLIL Durk is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter – who has worked alongside music icons Drake, 21 Savage, and Nicki Minaj.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old was born on October 19, 1992, in Englewood, Chicago, Illinois.<\/p>\n

After starting out creating rap tracks on Myspace and YouTube, Durk gained fame on the rap scene with his mixtape\u00a0Life Ain't No Joke.<\/p>\n
He was then signed to Def Jam\u00a0Recordings\u00a0and released Signed To The Streets, which was put in the top 10 of mixtape releases in 2013 by Rolling Stone.<\/p>\n

His big break came in 2020, after being featured on\u00a0Drake's single, Laugh Now Cry Later.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Lil Durk\u2019s older brother, rapper OTF Dthang was "shot in the head outside Chicago nightclub and died on the spot" in June 2021. <\/p>\n It comes after a string of tragedies for Lil Durk.<\/p>\n He lost his longtime friend and labelmate,\u00a0King Von, who died in November 2020.<\/p>\n He also mourned the death of one of his producers in June 2021. <\/p>\n According to Celebrity Net Worth, Lil Durk has a net worth of about $8million.<\/p>\n As well as releasing his own tracks, Lil Durk is the founder of the collective and record label,\u00a0Only The Family.<\/p>\n Lil Durk has climbed the ladder to success through his long-running career and has been featured on projects with industry giants such as Kanye West.<\/p>\n It was reported in November 2023 that Kanye, 46, was talking with Alamo Records about buying out Lil Durk from his contract so that they have the freedom to collaborate.<\/p>\n According to\u00a0TMZ, sources claimed that Alamo Records blocked a collaboration between the two for Kanye's new music.<\/p>\n In a demo LP release for the\u00a0rapper's new song, Vultures, Lil Durk featured with his own verse.<\/p>\n For the streaming release, however, Alamo Records CEO\u00a0Todd Moscowitz reportedly withheld permission for his client's verse to be included.<\/p>\n As a result, Kanye seems set to buy out Lil Durk so that the collab can continue; although who he'll sign with if his contract is ended remains unclear.<\/p>\n Lil Durk is thought to be 5 feet and 9 inches tall. <\/p>\n His weight is estimated at 72kg.<\/p>\n The rapper is known for many songs, but his most famous is certainly Laugh Now Cry Later. <\/p>\n The song debuted at number two on the\u00a0Billboard\u00a0Hot 100, and received nominations for\u00a0Best Melodic Rap Performance\u00a0and\u00a0Best Rap Song\u00a0at the\u00a0Grammy Awards.<\/p>\n The rapper is also known for his track Hellcats & Trackhawks, and Still Trappin', alongside King Von.<\/p>\n When his fellow rapper died, he paid tribute to King Von with the music video for his new one, Backdoor.<\/p>\n King Von, 26,\u00a0died after getting shot during a gunfight\u00a0that broke out near an\u00a0Atlanta\u00a0nightclub on November 6.<\/p>\n The rapper announced the video with the caption: "Midnight.
