Angela Rippon’s quiet life in affluent London area where homes fetch £2.2million
Angela Rippon, 78, has been partnered with professional dancer Kai Widdrington on the 2023 series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The former newsreader, who used to present BBC One’s Nine O’Clock News, has been gracing our screens for decades, beginning her career at BBC South West in Plymouth in 1966.
Over the years, Angela has presented on a plethora of TV shows including the first two series of Top Gear, Antiques Roadshow, Come Dancing, What’s My Line and Rip Off Britain.
She has also written several children’s books about a character called Victoria Plum. She has also written guides for older people on how to stay fit and healthy.
Away from the screen, Angela has a quiet life which she splits between her main residence in London and her second home in Devon where she was born and raised.

In 1967, when Angela was 22, she married her childhood sweetheart Christopher Dare, an engineer.
The couple lived in a 17th-century cottage in Devon for 20 years before separating in 1989. The couple never had any children.
Her main residence in London is located in Kensington and is where she spends the majority of her time.
However, she also has a home in Devon where she spends the festive period with her family.

She told The Times in 2017 that the property is her family home which she inherited when her mother died.
The property is located just outside the market town of Tavistock on the edge of Dartmoor.
She also has a one-bedroom apartment on the French Riviera in Juan-les-Pins.
Homes in Kensington have an overall average price of £2,288,542 over the last year, according to Rightmove.
The majority of sales in Kensington during the last year were flats, selling for an average price of £1,507,950.
Angela’s latest routine on the 21st series of Strictly Come Dancing was a quickstep routine to the tune ‘Do-Re-Mi’ from The Sound of Music.
The routine was highly technical but managed to receive positive comments from the judges.
Overall, the judges awarded Angela and Kai an impressive score of 26.
