Joe Jonas has opened up about his "tough week" as he addressed the rumours that are circulating about his divorce from Sophie Turner.

The 34 year old was on stage with his band, Jonas Brothers, at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday, 9 September, when he took the microphone and spoke openly to his fans.

The singer admitted that it had been a "tough week" for him before explaining: "Itโ€™s been a tough week. I just wanna say, look, if you donโ€™t hear it from these lips, donโ€™t believe it. Okay?

"Thank you everyone for your love and support. Me and my family love you guys."

The crowd soon got behind Joe as they screamed with support for Joe as their tour of North America continued.

Joe's brother Nick, 30, then gave his older brother a hug in a public show of support.

The news broke this week that Joe and Sophie who have been married for four years, are heading for divorce.

They share two daughters, three year old Willa, and a one year old whose name has not been released..

It has been reported that Joe has already asked for a shared parental responsibility, and according to E! News, Joe has said that a "parenting plan should be established."

It has also been said that Joe has been looking after the children with his brothers Nick and Kevin for the last three months while he has been out on tour.

On Wednesday, 6 September, both Joe and Sophie shared a joint statement on Instagram confirming the split while saying that it is a "united" decision.

The statement read: "After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage.

"There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly, this is a united decision, and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children."

Since then, Joe has performed on stage without his wedding ring which was spotted by some eagle eyed fans during their performance on Thursday, 7 September.

However, just a week earlier, there was no sign of trouble as Joe took to the stage in Austin, Texas, with his band on his finger.
