Real-life Strictly couple are ‘all over each other’ during filming

Real-life Strictly Come Dancing couple Nadiya Bychkova and Kai Widdrington have reportedly been making their relationship known behind the scenes with some very public displays of affection, leaving crew feeling “awkward”.

Although Nadyia doesn’t have a partner in the show this year, she still appears in the group dances, and seemingly she and Kai were very affectionate between takes.

“Nadiya and Kai were all over each other during filming and could barely keep their hands off each other.

“They were making a real spectacle of their relationship and didn’t seem to care who was watching,” a source told The Sun.

“They performed together for some dances, but in between takes they were stealing kisses, holding hands, being very touchy-feely and generally making sure everyone knew they were a couple.

“It was over the top and awkward for everyone around them. They definitely seemed to be flaunting their relationship and enjoying the attention,” they said.

Express.co.uk has contacted representatives for Kai and Nadia for comment. Representatives for Strictly Come Dancing declined to comment.

Nadiya, who has a seven year old daughter Mila with Slovenian footballer ex Matija Skarabot, 35, and in March last year Kai opened up about his relationship with the youngster.

“It’s our life and of course that includes Mila,” he says. “I have a great relationship with her.

“She calls me ‘Kai Lemon Pie’ and she’s very adept at getting me to buy her sweets and chocolate.”

When they started dating the couple initially tried to keep their relationship under wraps which proved unsuccessful. “We wanted to keep it to ourselves as long as we could,” Kai recalled.

But word inevitably got out. “And, before we knew it, I had paparazzi camped outside my flat, waiting in vans on the off-chance they might grab a photo of us together.”

“The trouble with trying to keep something secret,” says Nadiya, “is that tongues start wagging and what people don’t know, they then make things up.”

Kai has been paired with broadcasting legend Angela Rippon in this year’s show but Nadiya hasn’t landed a celebrity partner this season.

Following last night’s launch show she took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express her “disappointment” but she also said she was “excited” for this season.
