Apple and Hermès Unveil New Watch Bands
It has been an exciting 24 hours with Apple. During its live-streamed “Wonderlust” showcase, Apple delivered a series of updates including a the new iPhone 15 and the upcoming Apple Watch Series 9.
Alongside the new Apple Watch, the tech giant and French luxury brand Hermès continue to expand their partnership, branching out from leather to more eco-friendly materials when it comes to their wrist straps. Also revealed at the “Wonderlust” event, the latest collection of bands include mesh and rubber, as well as the first-ever knitted band for Hermès. The knitted band, called the Bridon model, is hand-braided and features a chevron pattern. The Kilim model is made with molded rubber and is waterproof and also features a deployment buckle.
The collaboration also unveils two new woven bands, the Toile H model which reinterprets the Hermès signature checked canvas as well as the Twill Jump that comes in a solid color like the iconic orange with contrasting details. In a statement, Apple said that the latest collection of bands “draws on the house’s rich history in textiles and craftsmanship.” Hermès also added, “The Apple and Hermès collaboration is the meeting of two cultures united by common values: the quest for excellence and authenticity.” The duo first joined forces in 2015.
The latest collection arrives in stores on September 22.
