Strictly Come Dancing attracts millions of viewers every year who tune in to avidly watch celebrities turn into dancers, but there’s one person who’s never joined in on the hype – Bobby Brazier.

The 20-year-old has candidly admitted that he’s not a super fan of the series, in fact, he’s never watched a single episode.

‘My first experience of Strictly is being on Strictly,’ he revealed while speaking on This Morning.

Rather than be offended, his partner Dianne Buswell, who’s been part of the BBC show since 2017, enjoys that he has no preconceptions.

Dianne, 34, gave an insight into how his avoidance has impacted their rehearsals: ‘Every single time I mention a dance he’s like “I’ve never heard of it.” It is quite exciting because he is learning from scratch so has no bad habits’.

It is still early days for Dianne and Bobby, who will perform together for the first time on Saturday night.

‘He only knows one style at the moment. But I think that style is what he will be best at,’ said Dianne.

Luckily, he’s got talent already: ‘Bobby has a natural groove to him and great charisma.’

Despite never having watched an episode, Bobby has quickly learnt one thing – ‘It’s hard work’.

The EastEnders actor also revealed he ‘begged’ his boss to allow him to take part in Strictly and the determination has paid off as he’s already claimed the launch show was the most fun experience of his life.

Later in the interview, Bobby was coy at the revelation he is bookies’ favourite to win.

‘We haven’t even started yet,’ he stated. ‘We’re taking it one step at a time,’ Dianne added.

Bobby credits his dad Jeff Brazier for passing on a few of those steps: ‘My dad is a good mover! Where do you think I got the caterpillar from?’ he joked.

Bobby, who is the son of the late Jade Goody, already has plenty of confidence and has even made a cheeky play for a former contestant’s girlfriend.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1. Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight, September 23 at 6:35pm on BBC One.
