In Prince William‘s latest appearance, for example, the Prince of Wales did just that as he visited the Grange Pavilion in Cardiff, Wales, alongside his wife Kate Middleton. In the moment, which is now going viral on TikTok, William made the whole room laugh and they all posed for a group photo. “Who’s pinching my bottom?” the royal asked the room, which proceeded to burst out laughing. Talk about a great way to get a perfect shot!
In the TikTok, which now has over 55,000 views, William’s sneaky quip is then compared to a similar joke made by the late Queen Elizabeth II during the G7 Summit in June 2021. In that now-iconic moment, the monarch asked her fellow world leaders, including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and French President Emmanuel Macron, “Are you supposed to be looking as if you’re enjoying yourself?” Safe to say their smiles were much more genuine after that!

The sweet moment, which shows just how charming William can be in a public setting, also shows an adorable exchange between him and Middleton. As anyone watching the TikTok can tell, Middleton is as surprised as everyone when William cracks the joke. She then looks around the room to see everyone laughing and proceeds to look lovingly at her husband. Talk about a major heart-eyes moment!
The interaction between them comes after sources confirmed how strong their connection has been one year into their new roles as the Prince and Princess of Wales. “William and Kate are more in sync than ever,” a palace insider told Us Weekly. “They cherish what they have with each other.”
