Jade Goody's mum believes Bobby Brazier will 'bring her back' on Strictly
Jade Goody’s mum Jackiey Budden has shared her pride ahead of Bobby Brazier’s Strictly Come Dancing debut.
Bobby, 20, joins the likes of Amanda Abbington, Zara McDermott, Les Dennis, and Angela Rippon as part of the Strictly 2023 cast when the glitzy dance show returns next month.
And when her grandson waltzes onto her TV screen, Jackiey has admitted it’ll feel like watching her own daughter all over again.
The 64-year-old said she is ‘over the moon’ that Bobby has signed up for Strictly this year, as his late mum – who died in 2009, aged 27 – was a huge fan of the show.
‘I’m over the moon and he’s just stepped in his mum’s shoes — he’s in Jade’s trotters,’ she said.
‘He’s been born to bring Jade back as himself, because he’s the spit of Jade — he’s got his daddy’s head. It will be like watching her on telly.’
Jackiey added to The Mirror that she is still close to her grandson, who stars in EastEnders.
However, his hectic work schedule means they don’t get to see each other much, as she lives in South London and the soap records in Hertfordshire.
‘He has to get up at 5am for EastEnders sometimes, so he’s always on the go,’ she explained.
‘We always text though which is lovely. He likes to keep an eye on his nana, just like Freddie does.’
Jackiey also said it was always her grandson’s dream to get into acting after achieving success as a model.
Her sweet comments come after Goody’s widower revealed what she would think of her son taking part in Strictly.
Jack Tweed, 36, was married to the Big Brother star a month before her death from cervical cancer.
He said Goody would be ‘bursting with pride’ for Bobby and ‘and all he’s achieved.’
‘For someone so young, he has already achieved so much. Bobby has modelled for Dolce & Gabbana and all the top brands.
‘Then he went on to get a job on EastEnders and now he’s appearing on Strictly.

‘Seeing Bobby grow into such a nice young man has been a lovely thing to see.’
Jack added to The Sun: ‘He is absolutely smashing it. Jade would be bursting with pride.’
Strictly returns to television screens with 15 brand new contestants and partnerships on Saturday, September 23 on BBC One and iPlayer.
