Lenny Kravitz joins TikTok in most iconic way by digging out *that* giant scarf

Lenny Kravitz has joined TikTok in the best possible way – by wrapping himself up in that massive viral scarf for a clip celebrating the arrival of autumn.

The stylish singer, 59, donned his famous woollen accessory that is more blanket than scarp in scope – genuinely, it’s well over 10 feet long – alongside a brown leather jacket, flared jeans, sunglasses (naturally) and boots.

Strolling casually towards the camera down a park path, with the scarf draped down one side of his body and thrown over his shoulder, the Let Love Rule crooner announced: ‘Grab your big scarf. It’s the first day of fall.’

The caption to his first-ever TikTok, which has already amassed 4.7million views in less than 48 hours, repeated his message, reading: ‘It’s the first day of fall.’

He also added a series of hashtags with ‘#autumn’ to catch the non-US market, ‘#scarves’ to appease his fans and ‘#LennyKravitz’.

The performer, who also appeared in the Hunger Games films as stylist Cinna, has become famous for wearing scarfs, whether of the practical or more decorative variety. They’ve become one of his fashion calling cards.

But the fan favourite behemoth he dug out of his wardrobe in honour of his TikTok launch first rose to viral prominence back in 2012 when he was pictured wearing it while running errands.

Thus, a thousand (plus) memes were duly launched, with dad-of-one Lenny clearly happy to poke fun of himself on TikTok.

Back in 2018 during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the star even admitted that he couldn’t ‘escape’ the scarf.

‘I live in the Bahamas, I’m used to hot weather and I had to go to the store, I was buying some groceries and I thought I’d put on a little scarf to protect my throat, and that’s the scarf I had,’ he told the host.

However, Jimmy was having none of it and retorted: ‘But Lenny, this is not a scarf, it’s a blanket!’

‘That was the day I thought I would break it out, and I had no idea that there would be paparazzi and that is now everything,’ the Fly Away singer added.

However, he also acknowledged the power of the internet and photoshop in his scarf’s legend.

‘Here’s the thing about the internet, though, that’s the problem — that’s the size of the scarf but the scarf keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger,’ he said.

People were clearly delighted to see Lenny back with his giant blanket-cum-scarf on TikTok though, with one proclaiming in the comments: ‘Lenny Kravitz is our Mariah Carey for fall.’

Another channelled Jimmy in their response, posting: ‘But Lenny that’s a blanket.’

‘Lenny’s scarf can be as big as he wants. He is Lenny Freakin’ Kravitz!’ shared another fan, while the Weather Channel was also happy with the star’s seasonal role as they confirmed that they were ‘here for it’.
