New Balance and AURALEE Reveal 1906R Pack
AURALEE and New Balance have revealed a closer look at their latest collaborative offering, two examples of the remastered 1906R, as first seen during the Tokyo-based brand’s FW23 fashion show.
This collaboration succeeds its 2002R, XC-72, RC30, and 550 collaborations of past seasons and presents itself in a calm understated fashion aligned with the brand’s apparel approach for the season. While three pairs in total are expected to be released, namely in white, beige and blue — the brands have currently only released close looks at the beige and blue pairs.
With designs of the collaborative pair being led by Ryota Iwai, the AURALEE x New Balance 1906R features washed suede, nubuck leather and mesh, combined with a waxed outsole that provides a vintage feel. The beige example of the shoe is accented with a lime green liner and yellow sole, while the blue pair features a gray tone gradation. Each pair comes with two types of shoelaces and a specially designed shoe box.
They’re expected to be released in Japan via AURALEE’s official website as well as New Balance’s site, with retail set at ¥26,400 YEN or $176 USD. While a global release is hopeful, it has yet to be announced at the time of writing.
