ochs und junior Pays Homage to Ray and Charles Eames with Latest Watch
Swiss watchmaker ochs und junior has launched the ochs line mese 2.23, a new timepiece following its successful first ochs line date watch, the mese 1.22. This new release comes as a tribute to the renowned American design duo, Ray and Charles Eames, embodying their understated 1950s color scheme.
The mese 2.23’s dial and date disc sport an understated black coat, accented with six light green indices. Its hour hand features a smoky green hue, while the minute and second hands are light green and orange, respectively, with a striking orange point marking the date.
Designed by Ludwig Oechslin, the watch’s module notably is made up of just two parts, alongside the ETAโs 2824-2 movement, demonstrating a blend of simplicity and functionality reminiscent of the Eameses’ design approach.
Available in 39mm and 42mm, the mese 2.23 is encased in Grade 5 titanium, paired with a black Ecopell leather strap, featuring an innovative buckle design by Oechslin — which is available in various sizes.
The mese 2.23 is priced at CHF 3,230 or $3,538 USD and is available now via ochs und junior’s official site, along with the mese 1.22, which is available for the same price. A bundle package is also available for true enthusiasts.
