Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Might Be Seeing the Tide Turn as the British Tabloids Call on King Charles To End the Royal Rift

There’s been something unusual in the air over in the U.K., the British tabloid headlines are starting to say a few nice things about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. With the criticism growing about King Charles III’s reign so far, many royal watchers are starting to demand that he makes a move toward healing the family rift. 

The Daily Mail is calling on Charles to make amends through two meaningful actions — items that Prince Harry has discussed are necessary for his family’s well-being and safety. Writer Nadine Dorries noted that the “issue of protection” is a real problem for the Sussexes when they come to the U.K. She described their security issues as “serious and genuine,” which was even confirmed by a former Metropolitan Police officer in 2022. “To say Harry can’t have full police protection, even if he pays for it himself, is nonsense,” Dorries wrote.

The second actionable task is giving the couple “accommodation on the Royal Estate.” This issue is rearing its ugly head since the Duke of Sussex is a counselor of state and is required to have a U.K. residence. He was very happily ensconced in Frogmore Estate until King Charles yanked it away from him and it now sits vacant since Prince Andrew refuses to move in. “There are enough rooms in Kensington Palace: let Harry and Meghan have a few so they have a safe and familiar place to stay,” she explained while also giving another good reason for Charles to make this happen. “The children can get to know it – and it will give them a strong sense of their heritage.”

Charles better be paying attention to the headlines because they aren’t really swaying in his favor since he took the throne. The layer of protection the royal family received out of respect for the late Queen Elizabeth II is gone, and now, the reality of modern media is beginning to set in.
