Frankie Essex: Logans medical misdiagnoses left me so worried I gave myself a headache

Former TOWIE star Frankie Essex gave birth to her twins, who she shares with boyfriend Luke Love, last May. She has since shared updates on settling into life with babies Logan and Luella.

In her exclusive column for OK! , Frankie has discussed a range of topics related to motherhood โ€“ from her first social outing with the twins and a blackout at her home when they were just a few days old, to โ€œfeeling more human againโ€ as the babies dropped their dreaded 2am feed.

This week she opens up about Logan's eczema, which was first misdiagnosed as a fungal infection, and how she's preparing for Christmas.

Logan's eczema was misdiagnosed

Logan's had a cold recently so I kept wiping his nose and at first I thought he was having a reaction to that, but it ended up getting worse so we took him to the Doctor's who said it was a fungal infection and gave us this cream to use, but that only made it even worse.

Luke said that maybe it was something that would get worse before it gets better but then his skin started bleeding and cracking. And by this weekend and so I FaceTimed my private GP and she said that he's going to need antibiotics.

Then we got a face-to-face appointment the next day and as soon as we walked in, the GP was just like 'it's infected eczema' and gave us a prescription for some antibiotics, and it's already started clearing up.

I was so worried I actually made myself ill

When we weren't sure what was happening I kept doing all this research online and made myself so worried that I ended up with a headache.

I did find this skin cream called Little Butterfly that's great for baby's skin and we've been using it every night. Logan wasn't sure about it at first but now he loves getting it put on.

We got a cute Christmas family photoshoot

We had a family photo shoot when the twins were first born, so we went back to get a special Christmas one, and it was just so cute. It was the same photographer who took my pregnancy photoshoot too and it's so nice to just keep going back.

The twins loved getting their photo taken, there were so many festive props, it was a bit like baby sensory overload. I love the photos so much though.

I'm making a Christmas book for each of them that will have photos in for every Christmas so they can look back and remember them all. It's just such a special time of year, and having children has really brought back the magic of it for me.

We've started Christmas early so December will be a bit less hectic

In December it can be such a rush to see everyone and do everything for Christmas, so we did some Christmas stuff this month so it can be a bit more chill and relaxed next month, rather than trying to cram everything in. We've already been to Winter Wonderland, although we are thinking about going back again.

We've also been sorting our December plans, and we've created a new tradition, last year we stayed in a hotel for a night in December and then in the morning the twins met Santa, and we're going to do that again this year. I'm hoping to keep it up for the next few years.

And me and Luke are planning to have a date day in the lead-up to Christmas, which will be really nice.

I've made a start with Christmas decorating

Although we were in the house last year, it was still pretty much a building site so this is our first proper Christmas as a family, I've made a start with decorating, although I've not got my tree up yet.

I've got a nutcracker and sleigh, although I still need to get them painted, which I'm dreading doing. I kept asking my friends if anyone wanted to join me but they just told me where to get the paints, so I'm taking that as a no.

But it's a challenge that I've set for myself and I know it'll look adorable with the twins in, and once I've got it painted I can just bring it out every year.

I'm actually dreading putting the tree up. I'm going to have to go and get it out of the attic and it's just so chaotic in there, especially with Luke insulating it at the moment.
