It’s getting hot in here: The very quirky ways people (and animals!) have braved warmer temperatures

Scientists have for years been warning that climate change could result in extreme heatwaves and icy winters – and it would seem many have been battling the former, especially in the last few months.  

Pictures from all over the world, collated by BoredPanda, show the different ways people and pooches alike have tried to alleviate the summer temperatures.  

One shot from Thailand snapped a dog who was so desperate for respite from the sun, he dunked into a pool near a store. 

Elsewhere, a man in Brazil mitigated the risk of sweaty hands as he tucked an umbrella into his shorts in an attempt to get some shade. 

Another poster from Canada brought out their innovative side when they taped an ice-cube tray to a fan to make-up for a lack of air conditioning.  

Furry clever! One cool dog in Thailand, dipped into a pool of water for a much-needed break from the heat

One scene from California also featured a bear which snuck into a pool to cool down.  

Meanwhile in Portland, a good Samaritan tried their hand at distributing water to make sure everyone was hydrated. 

And in Denmark, one adorable pup struggled to keep his eyes open as he attempted to get away from the sun.  

This ingenious inventor, understood to be from Brazil, made sure he kept himself protected from the sun. He mitigated the risk of sweaty hands as he tucked an umbrella into his shorts in an attempt to get some shade

Ice idea! In Canada, one household took matters into their own hands as they braved the heat with no air-conditioning

One motorist in the US turned their Cola gummies back into Cola when they left the sweets to sit in the car

Bear necessity! This smart creature found the perfect solution to the California heat as he took a dip in the pool in Burbank

A good Samaritan from Portland handed out free water for others trying to battle through the heatwave 

An adorable pup from Denmark couldn’t keep his eyes open as he attempted to escape the heat under a damp towel

A frosty bottle of Irn-Bru, the beverage beloved in Scotland, served as the perfect icepack for this overheated pooch 

One exasperated cat in the US braved the 97F (36C) temperatures as it tried to cool down on top of a fan 

These sheep in Ireland clearly couldn’t handle the sunny weather and so tried to find the best shade they could

When you don’t have the air conditioning on: This dog’s owner tried to cool the pet down using bags of ice cubes
