This is the hilarious moment a holidaymaker panicked after realising she’d picked up someone else’s luggage at the airport.
Jessica Maciel and her friends had left Dublin for the sunny shores of Gran Canaria, when they suddenly realised their pal Yasmine had collected the wrong suitcase from a local airport.
Worried that the lost item could spell doom for Yasmine, the thoughtful group embarked on a search of the suitcase – and as luck would have it they discovered a label detailing the owner’s contact information.
An extensive hunt on Facebook eventually led them to the rightful owner, who was luckily staying only 15 minutes away from their hotel. The group then hopped in a taxi to make the swap, holding back a fit of giggles as they made their way there.
In a video posted to TikTok, Jessica narrated Yasmine’s experience, saying: ‘Alright, lads so, we arrived at Gran Canaria – all smiles and then this happened.

‘Yes, Yasmine took the wrong suitcase and we were all falling about the place, laughing. We could not believe it’.
Yasmine could be seen looking shocked as she struggled to form sentences through her laughter.
The mysterious suitcase was then placed on one of the hotel beds, revealing its personal contents carefully packed inside.
Jessica filmed the entire group as they laughed at Yasmine’s expense, but thankfully for Yasmine, the joke was soon over.
Looking back on the ‘mad’ event, Jessica explained: ‘It happened on Saturday just gone when we arrived into Gran Canaria.
‘Both girls had the exact same suitcase and both took the wrong one.
‘When we got to the hotel, my friend Yasmine needed to get something out of her case, opened it up and realised none of the stuff in it was hers’.
Amongst the belongings, the group spotted a label containing the stranger’s information.
Yasmine’s pal Jessica said the group typed in the passenger’s name on both Facebook and Instagram, and contacted every account that came up

Refusing to leave fate in the hands of the airline, they got to work trawling through social media.
Jessica revealed they typed in the passenger’s name on both Facebook and Instagram, and contacted every account that came up.
The full message read: ‘Hey, this is so random but are you in Gran Canaria by any chance?
‘I have a carry-on with your name on it and I’m trying to find the owner because I think they have my bag. Because they’re the same bags’.
Luckily for the team, results were almost instant. Jessica continued: ‘Within minutes, she had gotten a response from a girl on Facebook and found her.

‘She was actually Irish as well and she was only staying 15 minutes away from where our hotel is.
‘So, within an hour of realising that she had the wrong suitcase, she had gotten her own one back. It was mad’.
Yasmine received the good news while seated for dinner at the hotel’s official restaurant.
Once Jessica heard the terrific news, she shouted: ‘Oh my God!’
She continued: I literally was like, “mine was taking ages to come out” and then I just saw mine and picked it up,’ she continued.
‘I didn’t even look at the label and I got back to the room and I opened it and was like, “No, this is not my suitcase”.’
