Helen Skeltons fresh heartbreak as ex Richie Myler proposes to new girlfriend

Helen Skelton has been hit with fresh heartbreak after her ex husband reportedly proposed to his new girlfriend.

It's reported he popped the question earlier this year, despite their divorce still needing to be finalised. Richie started dating his new partner Stephanie Thirkill last May, and the pair welcomed their first child together the following year.

While Richie and Stephanie are yet to confirm their reported engagement, it's reported they've told their nearest and dearest.

A source told The Mirror : "Richie and Stephanie are engaged. They're keeping it very quiet because Richie's divorce from Helen hasn't yet been finalised."

They added that family and friends know about the upcoming nuptials and the pair are looking forward to planning the wedding. While their proposal has stayed quiet, Richie has recently swooned over Stephanie to mark her birthday.

He wrote: "Happy birthday to the most wonderful person I know. Me and Olivia are so grateful for everything you for us and the person that you are.

"You are such an amazing mummy to Olivia, we are very lucky. We love doing life with you and can't wait for what the future holds together. Here's to another exciting year, love you lots."

Helen opened up about her split from Richie in her autobiography My Stride, admitting that she was "in shock". The TV presenter added: "I know that following break-ups, people often say they didn't see it coming and it sounds like a cliché, but that was me."

In the book, she explained the split destroyed her confidence, but appearing on Strictly last year helped her bring it back. She said: "In week two, Gorka asked me why I didn't feel sexy. It was an awkward question that immediately made me cringe."

She added: "He was asking a woman with three children under six, whose husband had just left her and was with another woman, TO BE SEXY.

"I thought, ‘Who would feel good about themselves in that scenario?'" However, she had one turning point after dancing to Cabaret's Mein Herr where she performed in suspenders, which she said allowed her to "be the boss".

Helen ended up coming second place on her season of Strictly.
