All Creatures Great and Small star admits Siegfried meets his match
All Creatures Great and Small season 4 trailer
All Creatures Great and Small Siegfried Farnon (played by Samuel West) is set to come to terms with the fact that Richard Carmody (James Anthony-Rose) will take over from Tristan Farnon (Callum Woodhouse).
Tonight, Richard will start at Skeldale House bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready for his first day as a veterinary student, but soon realises Siegfried will be a tough nut to crack.
Whilst Richard is confident he already knows everything he needs to, Siegfried quickly learns the pair will butt heads often and realises they are more alike than he cares to admit.
Speaking about their blossoming friendship, Carmody actor James Anthony-Rose told Express.co.uk and other press: “In many ways, Carmody is like a mini Siegfried initially.
“He comes in and Siegfried has kind of met his match so it was interesting to look at Sam’s portrayal of Siegfried and see certain parallels there.

“But I think even Siegfried realises that this kid is a bit too close to the bone for him almost, he recognises the similarities and doesn’t like the reflection and so he tries to teach him a thing or too
“That was a lot of fun to play out that dynamic. He is very much wanting to stay and help the farmers at this difficult time when they are trying to feed the country.
“He knows his limitations, he knows he isn’t cut out to be a soldier, he doesn’t want to be and yeah… I could relate to that as well, from his perspective he knows his place.”
In tonight’s episode, called “Right Hand Man” James Herriot (Nicholas Ralph) and Helen Herriot (Rachel Shenton) can’t get any time together.
