Deal or No Deal fans blast Stephen Mulhern for 'overstepping' in contestant's love life – fuming 'stop forcing it!' | The Sun

DEAL or No Deal fans have absolutely blasted host Stephen Mulhern for overstepping in a constant’s love life as he pressed for an engagement announcement on the show.

This week it was Kyra’s turn to step up to the red box, and she brought her boyfriend along for support.

As Kyra introduced herself, she revealed that she and her boyfriend have been together for five years.

The host quickly asked if they were engaged, but Kyra held up her bare hand and bitterly said that it’s not happened yet.

Visibly shocked, Stephen, 46, asked her why he's not popped the question yet. To this Kyra replied, “ask him.”

Put on the spot, her boyfriend laughed nervously before saying “it’s coming soon.”

However, this romantic conversation was not received well by fans, who quickly took to social media to caution the host against getting involved in their love life.

“Forcing someone into an engagement isn’t wise,” one viewer said.

Way to put the poor guy on the spot, he’s probably waiting to see what she wins today first lol! But let’s not forget, equality, she could do the asking too you know!*!

Another angry viewer was not impressed. “STOP FORCING AN ENGAGEMENT ON THE POOR F**KING GUY,” they typed in all caps.

However, another fan was on board with the idea, commenting, “A proposal on Deal or No Deal, I bloody well hope so.”

Although she seemed slightly annoyed when she raised her bare ring finger, Kyra added that she was happy with her boyfriend and explained that she let her boyfriend pick out her outfit today, hoping it would bring her luck.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case and viewers blasted Kyra’s strategy as she began out choosing boxes based on her family’s birthdays and important dates in her life.

This didn’t work out too well, as she eliminated two of the ‘Big Five’ boxes in the first ten minutes.

Things didn’t get too much better for apprentice economist Kyra, who was left with two boxes, one containing £4,000 and £1 in the other.

Kyra was offered £1,800 by the Banker before she made her decision which one to open. She followed her boyfriend’s advice and said “deal” to take home the cash.
