Lydia Dingle's pain is set to continue in Emmerdale next week, as she faces up to the reality of her horrifying ordeal.

Meanwhile, Craig continues to use Samson as a means to increase the ever-growing tension in the Dingle household as he peppers Samson with questions about Lydia’s relationship with Sam.

Later on, once she sees Samson in the Woolie with Craig, Lydia snaps and furiously orders her humiliated step-son home immediately, leaving Craig feeling evidently uneasy.

Not happy about the outburst, Samson berates Lydia again for telling him to stay away from Craig, while Mandy’s increasingly concerned that there’s something wrong with Lydia and begins to think she could be hiding something painfully serious.

Later, while cleaning at the office, Lydia is terrified when Craig unexpectedly turns up. After pushing her to the limit with his insistence that he did nothing wrong, Lydia bravely calls him out for what he is…a rapist.

Since Lydia's horrifying ordeal hit screens, Emmerdale fans have been left heartbroken as the cleaner tries to cope with her pain the best way she knows how.

In a previous scene, Craig tried to gaslight Lydia, which further infuriated viewers.

He said: "Running away from what happened won’t help anyone, will it?

"What happened, happened. And if we’re honest we both knew it would – there’s too much unfinished business."

As Lydia explained to Craig that she said no, he replied: "That’s the guilt talking.

"You do something on impulse because you can’t help yourself and then when it’s over and life goes back to normal, you feel bad for letting yourself give into temptation.

"I know it was a mistake, you’ve got a family and a life, but I don’t regret it. I’ve spent too long dreaming of being close to you again."

After witnessing Lydia's heartbreak several fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter with one writing: "It's hard to feel sad for Lydia, considering she did everything NOT to get any justice or even revenge."
