Josie Gibson and Rylan Clark sparks backlash over uncomfortable cat segment
This Morning: World record cat refuses to purr on air
This Morning fans blasted Rylan Clark and Josie Gibson for making a “poor cat” feel “uncomfortable”.
Bella the cat was brought onto the show for having a record-breaking “loud purr”.
However, Josie and Rylan wanted Bella to demonstrate her loud vocals to viewers, but the cat became very shy and clearly didn’t feel like purring as she snuggled up to her owner on the sofa.
However, the two presenters kept trying to lure Bella into making her sound by feeding her chicken with a microphone in front of her face.
Her owner didn’t seem worried about Bella and admitted she was probably too nervous to purr, but fans of the show took to social media to complain about the segment.

Echoing this, @obi_john_kanobi penned: “Why wasn’t there a video of the purring?! You expect a cat out of their comfort zone to perform live. #thismorning.”
“Well… that was embarrassing #ThisMorning “The Cat With The Loudest Purr In The World”… not today!! We all know cats never perform on cue,” @NessaWS shared. (sic)
