Mrs Browns Boys star pays tribute to Paul OGrady in series finale
Mrs Brown’s Boys returns to BBC One with new series
Mrs Brown’s Boys’ iconic character Agnes Brown (played by Brendan O’Carroll) gave a heartfelt tribute to the late Barry Humphries and Paul O’Grady – AKA Dame Edna and Lily Savage, both of whom died this year.
While the last few years have seen Agnes and her family on screens only during the Christmas period, the main series has returned after 10 years off air.
The fourth and final instalment of the series aired on Friday and, following a 30-minute episode, Agnes concluded the episode by speaking to the camera as always.
After dispensing some marriage tips to BBC viewers, she added: “Oh, and I want to dedicate this series to Lily and Dame Edna… Sleep well, good night.”
Fans applauded the tribute, with Twitter user @CookeLouise admitting: “I don’t really get #mrsbrownsboys but that was a classy last line.”

@Ferretgrove added: “I’ve just watched the end of Mrs Brown’s Boys which I’ve never watched before because it looks awful and the show was dedicated to Lily and Dame Edna, so kudos to them.”

Like Barry, Paul made a name for himself through his character of Lily Savage.
Mrs Brown’s Boys first debuted on BBC One back in 2011 and ended with series three in 2013.
Festive episodes have continued to be broadcast during the Christmas period each year since, but this year saw a return of the main series.
