Strictly Come Dancing favourite returning to BBC show three years after leaving
Kevin Clifton is returning to the world of Strictly for Halloween Week.
The former show pro was a favourite on the BBC programme but in 2020 announced that he was stepping down after seven years of whirling celebs around the dancefloor. He is now busy with other projects – and raising his baby girl with Stacey Dooley – but has fitted a Strictly comeback into his schedule.
He will make his return on Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, filling in for his younger sister Joanne Clifton on the Choreography Corner segment. The exciting news was announced by It Takes Two host Fleur East.

After noting that Joanne was going to be absent, Fleur teased: "It's a scary time for our Strictly couples made even more frightening because Kevin Clifton has risen again for Choreography Corner." The singer also told viewers they could have a hand in what Kevin would be wearing, with fans asked to vote for his Halloween outfit.
Kevin made his Strictly debut in 2013 but after seven years said that it was time for him to focus on other things. When he announced his decision, he told fans that his Strictly years had "been some of the most wonderful years of my life".
"I want to leave on a high and have therefore decided the time has come to move on and focus on other areas of my life and career," he wrote on Instagram. "I want to thank all of the pros for inspiring me every day as well as all of my celebrity partners."
"The whole team behind the scenes have made always made the Strictly family what it is and the loveliest show to work for," he went on. "Thank you to anyone who has ever voted for me and my partners. It means the world."
Kevin, 41, added that the ballroom contest was the best show on TV and that it had been "an absolute dream and honour" to be a part of it.
Over his years on the show, Kevin danced with the likes of Frankie Bridge and Anneka Rice. In 2018 he was paired with Stacey, before they were an item, and they went on to win the coveted Glitterball trophy. They later started dating and welcomed baby girl Minnie in January this year.
