TOWIE star released from jail after serving two years of a nearly seven year sentence
Jailed ex-TOWIE star Mike Hassini has been released from prison after two years, jetting off on a romantic trip with girlfriend Jessica Milford after regaining his freedom.
The former TV star, 27, was sentenced to six years and nine months in prison back in 2021 but has been released after serving just two years of this lengthy sentence.
Since having been released, Mike and Jessica have headed off on a romantic trip, reports The Sun, where they have celebrated their reunion and Mike's newfound freedom at a lavish spa hotel.
The couple are said to now be "focusing on the future" and enjoying their time together.
A source close to Mike told the Mail Online: "Mike believes he's served his time and is now focusing on the future. He's fortunate to have only served a fraction of his sentence but feels rehabilitated, and is ready to move on.
"Jessica has been counting down the days until he was released and is enjoying spending time together once again."
Mike, who appeared on TOWIE from 2015 until 2018, was charged with drug dealing and possession of criminal property in 2021 after he, and his accomplice Gary Bear, were caught with a brick of cocaine, estimated to have been worth ยฃ70k.
Along with the cocaine, police also discovered phones and burner phones in the box that contained the drugs.
And at his girlfriend's parents' home there were three more blocks of cocaine, along with boric acid, a hydraulic press, metal plates, and small amounts of MDMA.
Following his arrest, a Met Police spokesman said: "Two men appeared in custody at Barkingside Magistrates' Court on April 19, charged in connection with the supply of Class A drugs.
"Michael Hassini was charged with conspiracy to acquire, use or possess criminal property, being concerned in supply of cocaine and possession with intent to supply cocaine.
"Gary Michael Bear, 23, was charged with conspiracy to acquire, use or possess criminal property, being concerned in supply of cocaine. A woman, who was also arrested, has been released under investigation."
This wasn't the first time the star has faced criminal charges โ he was previously spared jail in 2018 after pleading guilty to money laundering.
In November 2018, after his final episode of TOWIE, Mike was handed a 15-month jail sentence, suspended for 18-months, after admitting his part in a fraud scheme that ran from late 2014 to February 2016.
A judge at Basildon Crown Court also ordered him to do 200 hours of unpaid work.
