Waitrose Christmas advert 2023 features Graham Norton as dinner party goes awry
Cottage pie: Waitrose share recipe for classic dish
It’s that time of year when retailers drop their Christmas adverts ahead of December 25, and Waitrose has revealed its very own campaign.
The supermarket’s advert is set to Depeche Mode’s hit Just Can’t Get Enough as it celebrates the “good stuff” at Christmas.
The 90-second advert showcases Waitrose’s festive food and drinks over a jolly Christmas party where things go slightly awry.
However, nobody at the event even notices the issues as the food is “just that good” to eat.
It’s been created by Saatchi & Saatchi and filmed by film director Autumn De Wild.
The advert centres around a mix of relatable moments – from guests arriving too early to an unexpected power cut. Meanwhile, a guest gets locked in the bathroom.
There’s also a cameo appearance from Graham Norton who brings the No.1 Golden Bûche de Noël to the party.
The blips are soon forgotten thanks to “delicious” food which includes salmon mousse, mince pies, panettone and a chocolate box.

Nathan Ansell, Waitrose Customer Director, shared: “When it comes to Christmas, delicious food and drink play a central role in creating special moments for all the celebrations.
“We know that Christmas isn’t always smooth sailing and there is bound to be a hiccup or two along the way.
“However, these inconveniences are always forgotten while you’re busy enjoying delicious food, surrounded by your loved ones and creating magical memories.
“And let’s face it, at Christmas, it really is time for the good stuff, as when the food’s good, everything else is good.”

Graham added: “What a treat it was to be invited to such a fun party and to feature in this joyful Christmas campaign with Waitrose.
“It was quite a night, and after sampling so many delicious products from the festive range, I’ve got my order in already for the big day – because it’s Christmas, and it’s time for the good stuff.
“Now, is it too early to cut into another Golden Bûche de Noël?”
The advert will air for the first time tonight at 8.15pm during Emmerdale on ITV1.
